How to design a great cancellation process?

hi everyone natalie de grenier here and today we are going to talk about consolation processes and how do you make them work for you and for your members as well so this is a question that i'm get asked that i get asked a lot it's like natalie how how what do you advise us to do how should we set up this cancellation and i always say the same thing treat people the way you would like to be treated and for me that means that if i belong to some a membership or something where i pay a recurring subscription i want to be able to have control over when i stop the payment i want to have a button that says i'm cancelling right now okay so hopefully that is helpful to you like treat your people the way you would like to be treated now what i can tell people is that you do want to make the process the decision to cancel hard but once people have decided to cancel you should make it easy that's how i see it so uh what we do for example in the lab is that when somebody wants to cancel they have a button inside the membership that they can click when they click on it it goes to a cancellation page where we're first going to uh try to figure out if we can help them like we're sorry to see you go is there anything we can do um are you feeling overwhelmed with the content do you need a different type of support do you do you need to talk to not only one do you want support one-on-one right um are you overwhelmed by the content uh maybe maybe you don't need the membership anymore you you got it all figured out and and you're good right so people have an opportunity there to voice either their concerns their questions and things like that but there is a button there where they can cancel their payment right away and it will cancel their access at the end of the pay period now we can do that because we use wordpress in our favorite wordpress plugin called access ally but not every system allows you to do that so you also want to take into account what is your current infrastructure what is your current framework allowing you to do but at least that's what we do so i hope you find this helpful basically look at how you would want to be treated and and do that for your members okay i hope that you found this helpful if you are not subscribed yet to our channel please click on the button below and turn on notifications so that you can be notified when we come up live next thank you so much for watching and i will catch you next time

AccessAlly Tutorial – How to Generate a Certificate of completion

so in this video i am going to show you how to quickly and easily create a certificate of completion for when somebody uh completes your course successfully so um i'm going to use this uh demo site and we are going to set up a button on the module 8 page right here below the objective so when they click on the objectives a button here will show up that will allow them to display a certificate of completion okay so what we're gonna do is we're gonna edit this page in wordpress uh we're using dv but it's gonna work with anything really uh and we're gonna scroll down to the section the progress ally settings and we're going to go to certificates we're going to create an ad click on add new you can give it a name and you can just leave it like that if you're just going to have one and then the first thing we're going to do is we're going to upload a pdf for your certificate so you need to have a pdf with your branding and with the information that is going to be constant so that can be the name of the course that can be the name of your business maybe that can be a date right if you're doing different codes you know like uh fall 2000 uh full 2020 or something like that okay so i'm going to choose a template here uh so i'm going to pick the vertical gray as an example this is one of the templates that come with accessory you know for you to test um so it's not branded at all but that's okay for the purpose of this video so here it's uploading the pdf and then we're going to be able to add variables in the places where we want to add more information like the name of the student and things like that so here it's uploaded so you can see what it looks like by default so of course you'll have something you know pretty and branded and this is just a basic one to show you so we're going to click on add new customization and you can see here that there is a lot of things that we can add so the first thing we're going to do we're going to add the name you see that it's put it right here and then we can drag it to where we want it so i'm going to put it right here you can see that it's cut so i'm going to make this a little bit bigger like 180 which is good then i'm going to center this i'm going to make the font a bit bigger i can also change the font color i can change the the actual font name uh this text here is for me to see here in the preview right and also when i download the a certificate you don't have to have something here it will automatically change it with the name of the student that is logged in okay but for you to see [Music] i am going to put something here okay next we want to put the date so i'm going to add a new customization and here i'm going to choose the date right here and so i'm going to grab this and we're going to go where did you go come on come with me right here and i'm going to make that a little bit bigger as well so you see it's not big enough let's make it oops i click on the one thing here we go make this here okay and then if you want you can put the name of the course here or any other text um you could have the name of the course directly on the pdf that's generated right or we can add it as a variable if you really want to use something like say you have lots of courses and you just want to create one certificate and have the variables in it you can do that as well so here we're going to choose custom and the name is going to be the name of the course so let's say for example the power of memberships why not here we go the power of memberships course okay so what i what i put here is what will be displayed on the certificate what i put here is what i see in the preview okay so i'm going to grab this number three and i'm going to put it right here if it will light me right here i'm going to make it a lot bigger 200 maybe 200 is too big no it's okay and then bigger phones for sure like that okay so as you can see you can add you know if you check here [Music] in the customization you can see the different you know months day custom you can do quite a bit of stuff right here with the certificate once you're happy then what we want to do is we want to add this button right so we're going to scroll up to the page and again we're using divi and remember we want to add this button right below the objectives right so the objectives are right here so i'm going to open the objectives you can see they are being displayed right here and i'm going to add the certificates i'm going to go access ally certificate download and you can see that there is only one because i have only one this is what the button is going to say here you can have a css class if you want your developer to customize the button further otherwise you just click on insert code so at this point what this is going to do is that it's going to display the certificate no matter what and we don't want that right we only want to display it on completion so what we're going to do is we're going to select the certificate and we're going to go access ally progress base display so that means that we only want to display this button on certain condition and the condition is that hundred percent of the objectives are completed so i'm going to do it for this page but if if you are using for example the welcome page to do the completion of the whole course then you would select your welcome page right here okay here i'm going to say current post that means that it's going to display the certificate when module 8 is completed okay so i'm going to click on insert and you see that it's put this thing here at the you know before and after the actual certificate so i'm going to click save and update and now i'm going to refresh the page and now if i click then i have my download button right and i if i click on that i can download the certificate so i'm gonna download the certificate and then i'm going to open it and you can see the name the power and the actual date all right so any any student that logs in they're gonna see their own name they're going to see the date where they actually download the certificate and then they will see any variables that you've put out there okay so AccessAlly Tutorial – How to Setup a Free Trial with AccessAlly under 10 minutes!

So in this video, you are going to learn how to set up a free trial with Access Ally, and you're going to see that it's super easy. Okay. So you're going to go to Access Ally products. So first we're going to go to products and create a product. So we're going to call it the Membership lab. For example. It's going to be a recurring payment. So even if you're setting up a trial for a course, that's a one time payment, you still want to set up the course here the product as recurring because the payment is delayed. Therefore, it's a delayed payment. So there is a recording so that we can catch any failed payment and things like that. Okay. But here we're really going to talk about recurring payments. I'm going to give it the name. Here the Membership lab. So obviously you already have a product that doesn't have the trial. You can just duplicate it here because you'll have all the automation and text already. But I'm starting from scratch. So this is going to be 97 a month. And I'm going to say only 97 a month after a 15 day trial, for example. Okay. Then I'm going to go to recurring payments. And here I'm going to say that this is a product with the recurring payments with a trial period. And here the first payment starts after 15 days. And here I'm going to say free trial period. And you'll see where this shows up in the order form. And then otherwise, I want people to be charged every month. Okay. So this is my product. And then in the automation tab, that's where we want to set up the payment fail and things like that. So I already have Tags for that payment failed the revoke access started order, the membership started order. Here we go. So this is so that you can catch if the payment fails after the trial, after they are supposed to be charged. Okay. So once you've set up the product, detail, the recording payments and the automations you can save. And then we're going to create an offer and put that product in it. So then we go to offers. Add new. I'm going to give you the name. So I'm going to call the Membership lab with a fifth, ten day free trial. This name is just for me. Okay. It's internal. And then here the products. I'm going to select the Membership lab, and you're going to see that it says 97. So we're all good in the automation. This is where you want to set up what is going to happen on successful payment. So if you already have a membership, that is the recording and it has the right tag, you can just duplicate that offer and just change the product. But here I'm starting from scratch. So I'm starting the order here. And then here I am going to on successful payment. I'm going to give them the midpurchase. And here I am going to give them the as access tag. Here we go. And then I also have an active member tag. Here we go. And then here I click here so that the account is created right away on successful payment. Okay. Next, I want to go to Payment Success because that tells what's going to happen on successful payments. So by default, they're going to get to a page like this with an opportunity with a button with an opportunity to be auto locked in. So you want to fill this out the way you want. I usually take this out and I say dashboard. And here I put a link to the dashboard. Okay. And that's it. So I save this. Here we go. So let me go back to product the membership lab, because I think that in the automation, this is the payment success tag. So that one payment success like that. So you should already have these Tags set up for your membership. So you just copy what you had. And then the next thing to do is to create a new page and to place your order. So we're going to come here. We're going to create a new page and we are going to call it join the lab. Join the lab with a 15 day trial period. I'm going to say use DV builder, insert one column. I use DV here, but you can use any theme, obviously. And then I'm going to insert the text. And then here I'm going to go to access Li. I'm going to select the order forms and I'm going to choose the membership lab with the 15 day free trial. You can choose here if you want a low coupon or not. I'm just going to say no like that. And I save. The last thing I do is I remove the header because I don't like to see the header with all the menu items on another page. Another form, and that's it. this is the name of the product. This is the description and this is what's going to happen 97 every month after a 15 day free trial period. So now if I entered the information and I click next, you could see immediate payment due zero. This card will be charged $97 every month after a 15 day trial period. So they still enter that credit card, but they are not charged until 15 days after. All. Right. So I hope that you found this helpful. How to Embed a Calendar inside your memberships

one of the best ways for your members to show up to your calls is uh to be top of mind right so that they know when the calls are happening and they can uh you know make plans you know in advance to make sure that they can uh show up so the way i like to do this on top of putting the zoom calls inside the membership so let me show you here in the lab we have the buttons here that directly start the zoom for that for weekly calls but what i'm going to do as well here is i'm going to embed a calendar so that they can quickly add these calls into um their own google calendar so that they can be reminded and they will never forget and if they can and they can decide to join or not mine happen to be q and a calls so people can show up if they have a questions but they just know i'm available twice a week basically so the way you would do this is you would go to your google calendar and you would create a new calendar so you would click on the plus sign go to create new calendar and i'm going to call it uh um weekly calls right for example you can give it a description you select your time zone i'm going to keep paris european time for me because that's where i am and i create the calendar so now that it's been created i can go and configure it so you can click here to configure it so you need to make it public so that people can uh see it uh but what you will want to do is you want you will want to embed it so before we do that let's go back here so you can see now weekly calls is right here and i can decide to add calls so i can say um test call actually you know what i'm not going to do that here i'm going to do that here right so i'm going to say test call and then here you choose you know the calendar that it goes to so it's going to be this one so by default it's purple you can change the color right here we go now it's green okay so you add your calls to this calendar change the color if you want to and this is how it's going to show up on yours but it's also how it's going to show up on theirs and it will be in that other calendar because they don't own the calendar but they can see it so now once you've created it you want to grab the code to embed it into your site so you're going to click on those three horizontally three dots here click on the setup and sharing and we're going to go to embed uh here and you're going to grab this code ctrl c and then we're going to edit this page which i have opened here already and then we're going to insert a text block for example i mean db here but that works with any theme i'm gonna click save update open and now i have the calendar you can see that my test call is here at 7. now the great thing is that you can see here the plus sign that will add this calendar automatically to um their uh calendar okay so you basically want to tell them by clicking on this they can actually add the calendar to their own calendar so that they can always be uh reminded okay so i hope that you find this helpful this is a great way for people that you know are part of your group programs where you have regular calls and you want to make sure that you are top of mind and that they don't forget and that's a great way and easy way for them to always have it in their calendars if you enjoyed this video please give it a thumbs up and if you're not already subscribed to the channel please click on the subscribe button and turn on notifications so you can find out more tutorial videos from us

The best retention strategy for your membership program

i'm just about to share with you the best literally the best retention strategy that you can set up for your membership site and i'm going to share with you four options from the easiest to the more advanced options so you can really see how you can improve that experience even more ready the best retention strategy by far is to make sure that your members get the content that they need when they need it fast because the number one reason people leave a membership is because of content overwhelm and the more content you're going to add the more people are going to struggle to find the stuff that they need so you need to help them with that and there are several ways that you can do that so the first level is to organize your content into some sort of category okay so when they get to your membership they have categories and they can pick the content i'm not gonna go too far with that because that's the most basic level that you might already have the second level of content of strategy the second level to help them consume your content is to provide them with a search mechanism so depending on the platform you're using you might have a search available but there is a good chance that it is not contextual enough and it's probably not providing them with the best search results because they can only search titles of you know titles of pages and copy if you have some and if you have lots of videos it's not searchable okay level number three of pro helping people consume your content is to come up with a self-assessment it's a type of quiz that is going to help people figure out where they are in the whole journey so you could imagine that people that join your membership at uh are at different stages of their business or their life you know based on the what your membership is about and with that self-assessment you can help them say figure out in what stage they are in and based on that stage you can say okay this is probably how you feel these are the things that you need to focus on and figure out before you get to the next level okay and this is the content that is going to help you make it happen so when you do that you can see that having tons of content on your membership is not going to create overwhelm because now they know that you can support them through the whole journey but you're also helping them figure out quickly what they need to focus on based on where they're at and that's what i mean by getting them the content that they need when they need it okay so not all membership allow you to do that we do that with access ali because it has a built-in quiz self-assessment that we turn into the email system so we also know in active campaign at what stage people people are at at any time okay so this is really helpful now let me share with you the fourth way which is the ultimate way that you can help your people consume your content it's to make sure that all your content include including your older content you know the qn is that you have from like a year ago where it has like golden nuggets in it and you know it but you also know that people don't go back and watch q and a's just for the sake of watching videos what you can do with this fourth step is turn your video content into a search engine and the way you do that is you create transcripts for all your videos and you make them searchable so of course if you had to do this manually it would be a ton of work you'd have to upload videos or audio you'd have to get the transcript then you'd have to upload back on your site that would be really costly in time and money okay uh luckily this is exactly why we created search detail video and i will post a link in the comments so that you can find out more but i wanted to share with you this most important retention strategy which is making sure that people get the right content when they need it so if you're using wordpress for your membership site and you're using vimeo for your videos check out search detail video because this is what is going to turn your membership into a video content search engine so now we love to hear from you what strategy are you implementing to make sure that your members get the right content let me know in the comments and give this video a thumbs up if you like it and turn on notifications so that you can be notified when we come up with new training for you bye

How to pick the right tools for your online business and end the struggle!

are you struggling to pick the right tools for your online business or are you wondering if you made the right choice i mean this is something that literally everybody goes through and this is actually a step that is stopping a lot of people from even taking action because they're just not sure what to choose and the number one mistake that they make is they start asking online what is the belt's tools for this or what is the best tool for that and they're really going about it the wrong way because when you ask people they're all going to tell you what they use very often they're going to tell you it's the best tool in the world and then you're going to have all these choices and at the end you're going to feel probably even more overwhelmed okay but fortunately there is a way to pick the right tools for the job and it's to start with what you actually need so it's not even looking at the tools it's looking at what do you need okay what functionalities do you need whether this is for your email system whether this is for your video creation video editing whether this is for your online course or your membership site okay let's not even talk about the tool the tool is just the tool it's the tool that's going to make it happen but before you pick the tool you have to make a list of the things that it actually needs to do okay and that is going to clear a lot of this overwhelm that you have with the tool where everybody is telling you oh this is the best this is the best this is the best and you have no idea it could be the best for them but it might not be for you okay now when it comes to uh online courses and membership site which is what at new software marketing you know we help people uh design and build um we basically tell that's how we work with our clients we tell them they are like two schools really school a is people that want to use an all-in-one platform you know those pre-made platform you know the kajabi the car try the project you know it sounds like there is one coming up you know every month and there is nothing wrong with this platform but what they are do but what they are doing is they are achieving a very specific thing right so if you want to go with a pre-made platform like that because you think it's going to save you time you think it's going to save you money okay but then what you do is you pick the tool then you figure out what are the best features of that tools then you also figure out what are the things that it cannot do and then you build your business around that and this is the best way to get the most out of this tool that is going to have its limitations because it's all in one and there is no way that it can do everything perfectly okay so if you want to go with a pre-made platform like the teachable the cachabi the cartridge the thinkific then find out what the tool does really really well and then build your business build your offer around that okay now on the other end if you're someone who wants to create a more uh custom experience like um like a customized onboarding experience you want more gamification more progress tracking then you design your program you design the structure how people are going to get content when um are you going to have a reward mechanism and accountability built in into the system and then you find the tool that can make it happen all right so those are really the two different schools either you pick the platform you learn the platform and you run your business around it or you design your programs and then you pick the tool okay and that is the best way to pick the tool that will actually do what you want it to do let me know in the comments if you're struggling with your tools what it is that you're struggling with have you identified exactly what you need and what are the specific features that you're looking for and then i'm happy to answer any comments below if you enjoyed this video please give it a thumbs up put a comment and uh turn on notifications so that you can be notified when we come up with new training like this thank you so much for watching and i will see you next time

And then here I can type social media tool and it's going to find the video that has the note that mentions the social media tools. So can you see how powerful that can be? AccessAlly Add-on – How to get your clients to choose their password on signup

so today i want to show you a new access ally add-on that we've just added uh and this is basically a way for you to be able to have your a new students and members to choose their own password once they sign up so let me show you how that works so here we have another phone right and so people enter their name and their email i can type right so i'm going to enter 47 for example and then i'm going to click on next and then here i'm going to get to the second step of the order form i'm going to enter a coupon so i don't have to enter maybe ranks to enter my credit card because it's a 100 discount coupon here we go then here i'm going to enter my company information here we go and then here i'm going to click here that i agree to the purchase conditions and click on pay now so traditionally when you click on pay now you would be redirected to a page where you'll have a congratulations message and very often a button so that you can be auto logged in or you'll have instructions on what happened next happens next an email is going to be sent to you and sometimes for people that do not want to store the password in um your crm they would display the password and the client would have to copy it and go to the user profile and enter it before they can change we made the process a lot easier let me show you so i'm going to click on pay now and it's going to redirect me to a page where i have to choose my password it's not showing me the password that access ally created for me in fact this page can be totally customized the only thing that stays is the new password password confirm and save password this here is totally customized you can even have a video if you want to you can make it more prominent you can have bold read or whatever you want but so once they get to this page they have to choose their password so i'm going to enter a password and of course it's going to tell you if it's not correct when i click on save it is going to redirect me to the page of my choice so here it's going to redirect to the contact page because that's how i set it up but it also has the ability to tag the person so what we've done here in this demo is that the person that signs up and enters their password is going to be tagged password chosen okay so that we know that the password was chosen so i'm going to click on save and now the password is saved only in xsli not in the crm but it's the password that the person chose and now i'm going to be redirected to the the page of my choice which was the contact form all right so this is now part of the membership launch box and it is going to soon be part of the membership lab if you want to find out more just reach out to us and we'll be happy to answer any questions

Improve your members experience: how to favorite videos inside a membership site

Are you looking for ways to improve the member experience inside your membership? You're going to love this feature. It's basically the ability for your members to favorite your videos. So if you're using WordPress and you're using Vimeo as your video storage, then you are going to be able to use that feature. And basically the way it works is it displays this little heart here at the bottom of the video, and all they have to do is click on it to market as a favorite video. What happens then is that you can give them access to this library of favorite videos anywhere on the site, so that can be through a button here that could get them to a page where they can see all their favorite content. And with the click of a button, they can just go back and click on the video and it will get them to the page with that video. You can also have a menu item so you can see here we've organized it in a submenu and we call it My content. And here they can go directly to their favorite content. It's going to send them to the same page, or you can even have a badge on the main dashboard the page that they go to once they log in so that they can directly access their favorite content. This is especially helpful if you have a library type of membership with lots of content where you know that people will never consume everything. But it's really important and really a great feature to allow your members to organize their content in the way that they consume it and in the way that they want to access it when they log in. AccessAlly Tutorial: How to tag a person when they download a file?

so in this tutorial video I am going to show you how with access a line you can easily tag people when they download a file through using custom operations okay so I'm here in the membership club I'm going to use this as an example this is one of the resources actually let me go back to the beginning this is one of the resources that we have where we have this tool where you can filter by tagging the user and you can see that when I go to a product page I have a download button and this is just a regular download button that doesn't track anything so we're going to create a new button where they're going to be tagged when they actually download so the first thing that you want to do is you want to create a custom operation then I'm going to click here to trigger the operation within the membership site and that is what's going to create the button okay I'm gonna change the label of the button I'm gonna say download the PDF I'm not going to have a pop-up so this is the message where they click on the button it can pop up a dialog and here instead of having a success message I'm going to redirect them to the actual PDF so they can download it so I'm gonna paste the actual PDF okay and that's it so I'm going to click Save so the next step is I then want to add that button on this space of an editor page I am on TV here but if you're using elementary build or any of anything else you can do that with your own edit okay so I'm going to edit the product and you can see here that I already have my button and what I'm going to do here is I'm going to add a text block and here I'm going to go access Ally custom operation test download PDF insert so download PDF patella that's just for me for my records and I'm going to Center this thing so it's centered and update and that's it so now if I go to this page if i refresh this page by if I come back to the product page and i refresh and I have this download the PDF okay now I want to show you before I do that I want to show you my profile to show you that I don't have the time okay so this is my profile you can see that I've completed onboarding I'm an active member and this is my status but I don't have the PDF download time right so now I'm gonna click on download the PDF and here it is alright so now I can download it to my computer and save it not gonna do that right but now if I go back to my profile and i refresh now I have to test PDF download it ok ok so this is basically how you create a button with a custom operation in access Ally to tag people when they download and the way you do it is you on the click you redirect them to the actual PDF I hope you found this tutorial useful let me know in the comments if it helped and if you're not subscribed yet please subscribe to the channel so that you can be notified when we come up with new videos
